Scarce AMQS from the German composer and influential conductor in the circle of Lortzing, Mendelssohn and Schumann. AMQS titled "Andantino" from "Gute Nacht, du mein herziges Kind", op. 137 (3 Lieder für eine Stimme mit Begleitung des Pianoforte) no. 2, published 1856, penned on an off-white 5 x 3 inch sheet. Abt pens eight bars of music and lyrics, signing twice and adding the location and date, Brunswick, January 28, 1869. Inset within a gold-bordered 7 x 5 inch card. 4to.  24pp.  Glossy light pink paper cover with individual portrait photographs of the singers to the front cover and two group photographs to the rear.  No publication date is listed; included biographical information for the singers indicates ca. 1924–1927.  The book contains 25 songs, including "Dar's a Jubilee," "My Old Kentucky Home Good Night," "Who Stole the Lock?," "Peter Go Ring Dem Bells," "Swinging on the Golden Gate," "Hard Trials," "Steal Away," "Keep in de Middle of De Road," "Prepare Me, Lord," "Old Black Joe," "Jericho," and others.  The final three pages include biographical information on each member of the group.  A very bright, clean copy.  Name penned to the upper margin of the front cover, light fading along spine, else in fine condition.  7.5 x 10.75 inches (19 x 27.3 cm.). Upright folio.   [PN] 1122.  Complete printed scores in five parts.  Engraved throughout.  An arrangement of Beethoven's Piano Trio Op. 1 No. 1 for string quintet.  Violino primo: Title, Music (2–13), blank.  Violino secondo: blank, Music (2–8).  Viola prima: blank, Music (2–7), blank.  Viola seconda: blank, Music (2–7), blank.  Violoncello: blank, Music (2–7), blank.   With a later publisher's ticket "Chez L. Plattner a Rotterdam" laid over the original imprint on title, with ownership stamp "P.J. Le Coultre Enkhuizen" to the title page and some other parts, and a bookplate "P. Kopp was born in Ukraine, the son of a city cantor.  During his career, he spent many years as a conductor with the Chicago Opera.
