Signed original photograph of the great Polish-Mexican violinist showing the fiddler on stage with his violin, by Scheinder of Graz. An unusual image in pristine condition, signed and inscribed in 1981. 4 x 6 inches (12.5 x 17.5 cm.).A student of Carl Flesch and (for composition) Nadia Boulanger, he had a major performing and recording career, and was a frequent collaborator of Arthur Rubinstein and Pierre Fournier. He became a naturalized Mexican citizen after visiting in 1941 on a mission to relocate Polish refugees from the Nazis, and he taught in Mexico for many years while maintaining an active concert career.
