Original press photograph of the great Soviet composer, listening intently to a rehearsal of the Leningrad Symphony Orchestra during his 1960 visit to London. The trip fell during a tumultuous year for the composer, in which he finally yielded to the official pressure to join the Communist Party. Dated on the verso: September 21, 1960.
