Signed 1961 Commodore LP (FL 30, 003) from the jazz pianist, inscribed "To Gus from Willie the Lion". The vinyl has not been tested but exhibits two scratches on the A side, left spine of sleeve with some wear, else fine.Willie "The Lion" Smith was an American jazz pianist and one of the masters of the stride style, usually grouped with James P. Johnson and Thomas "Fats" Waller as the three greatest practitioners of the genre in its golden age, from about 1920 to 1943. (18444)
