"Stroboscopes and Loch Ness Monsters" – Signed Lecture Announcement

Signed announcement from the Optical Society of America for a talk given by "Doc" Edgerton, also known as Poppa Flash, on the topic of strobes and pulse circuits, dated 1977.  Toning and pen mark to lower left, else fine.  8.5 x 11 inches (21.6 x 28 cm.).

A professor of electrical engineering at MIT, Harold Eugene Edgerton is credited with the popularization of the stroboscope, turning an obscure laboratory instrument into a common feature of high speed photography.  Throughout his career, he was also involved in the development of sonar, and assisted Jacques Cousteau with the development of new technologies for underwater photography.
