[African Americana]

Collection of Postcard Photographs

Collection of 25 postcard photographs of African American women, mostly in a studio setting, dated roughly between 1910-1930. A few of the cards are inscribed to the verso with humorous notes regarding the images. One reads, "Tell Melton I said he better not make fun of my [sic] pitcher I will get him when I see him you tell me Miss Alma if he does..." and another, "This is Emma and me made in Savannah...When you look at it send it back!"  Some postally used, with moderate toning throughout, else fine. All measure 3.5 x 5.5 inches (9 x 14 centimeters). (19100)
