TLS from the Scottish physician who discovered penicillin to Dr. Giancarlo Camerana of the Associazione Culturale Italiana declining an invitation to speak.  London, 11th September, 1950;  1 p. on Wright-Fleming Institute of Microbiology stationary.  Expected mailing folds, two holes punched to left margin, else fine.  8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm.).

The Associazione Culturale Italiana [Association of Italian Culture] has brought hundreds of philosophers, writers, scientists, artists, and Nobel winners to lecture in Italy.  Founder and director Irma Antonetto (1920–1993) received the 1964 Cavaliere al merito della Repubblica italiana. (19141)
