TLS from the famous aerospace engineer to Professor Irma Antonetto of the Associazione Culturale Italiana, responding to an invitation to speak.  June 16, 1972;  1 pp., on A4 National Aeronautics and Space Administration stationary.  In part, "Since I have recently resigned from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to accept a position in the aerospace industry, I am unable to assume any additional commitments at the present time."  Two holes to left margin, else fine.
Von Braun left NASA on July 1, 1972 to become Vice President for Engineering and Development at Fairchild Industries, where he worked until health issues stemming from kidney cancer forced him to retire in 1976.  

Irma Antonetto (1920-1993), was founder and director of the Associazione Culturale Italiana [Association of Italian Culture] for 46 years, during which time she brought some 400 philosophers, writers, scientists, artists, and Nobel winners to lecture in Italy. She was recipient of the 1964 Cavaliere al merito della Repubblica italiana. (19202)
