"Birds, Beasts, and Flowers" – Program

Program for an unusual spring 1978 performance at Harvard University's Loeb Drama Center starring Richard Pasco and Her Serene Princess Grace of Monaco.  Described as "a programme of poetry and prose," the evening consisted of selected readings about nature, including excerpts from works by William Blake, William J. Turner, D.H. Lawrence, Robert Frost, and many others.  The performance was part of a series of readings that marked Kelly's return to live performance almost 20 years after marrying Prince Rainier III.  10 pp.  Fine.  6.5 x 9 inches (16.5 x 23 cm).

From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
