Early and handsome Wayne J. Shilkret photograph of the American pianist, who has inscribed "To Paul, / Misha Dichter / Nov 2, 1969."  Photographer's stamp to verso.  Very fine.  9.5 x 7 inches (24.1 x 17.8 cm.).

While studying piano at Juilliard, Dichter won the Silver medal at the 1966 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, launching his international career.  He and his wife, Cipa Glazman, have toured the United States and Europe as a piano duo.

From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
