Charming photograph of the theatre legend during her Tony-nominated performance as Mimi Paragon in the original 1961 Broadway production of Noël Coward's Sail Away.  Stritch has inscribed to verso "To Paul / love / Elaine Stritch."  Very fine.  7 x 5 inches (17.8 x 12.7 cm.).

Stritch was a star of New York theatre throughout the 1950's and 60's, and won four Emmys during the later years of her career.

From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
