Impressive promotional mailer from RCA Victor for a new recording of Vincenzo Bellini's Norma featuring the Australian soprano in the role. Sutherland has inscribed "To Paul / with best wishes / Joan Sutherland" to the cover, which features a striking half-tone photograph of her in costume. The interior of the mailer reads "RCA Victor Records / Cordially offers you / for your / personal record library / the critically acclaimed / Sutherland / in Bellini's / Norma." "Joan Sutherland as Norma" embossed in gold font to original present wrappers. 4 pp. With somewhat poor ink adhesion to the signature, else in fine condition. 8.5 x 11.5 inches (21.6 x 29.2 cm.).From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
