Signed Samuel Goldwyn promotional photograph of the film director and screenwriter on the set of his breakthrough 1991 film, Straight Out of Brooklyn. Rich's inscription reads "To Paul / Thanks for your time / always / Matty Rich." Very fine. 10 x 8 inches (25.4 x 20.3 cm.).Rich was only 19 years old when he wrote, directed, and produced Straight Out of Brooklyn, filmed entirely in the Red Hook projects where he grew up. The independent film was a critical and commercial success, winning numerous awards.
