Signed souvenir program celebrating the incomparable British-Canadien singer and comedienne, who has inscribed "Paul / Best wishes / Anna Russell" to an inside page.  The program contains numerous photographs of Russell in roles throughout her career.  16 pp.  Fine.  9 x 12 inches (22.9 x 30.5 cm.).

Russell, an accomplished singer and pianist who often incorporated music into her comedy, is perhaps best known for her 22-minute synopsis of Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen and her instructional parody How to Write Your Own Gilbert and Sullivan Opera.

From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
