Title (v.b.); 1- 61 pp. 10.75 x 13.75 inches (27 x 35 cm).  [PN] 891. Inscribed and signed on the title page to the Belgian composer Peter Benoit: "Hommage a Peter Benoit / Emmanuel / Chabrier."  Title and first few pages with heavy foxing but subsequently less and completely clean after page 7; approx. 1.25 inch tear from left edge and within throughout, mostly affecting only the margin but occasionally extending just into printed area; wrapper tear repaired with tape, toned and slightly chipped along lower edge, otherwise very good . A rare signed score from the French Romantic composer and pianist. 

The most famous orchestral composition by Chabrier, España, rhapsody for orchestra was composed in 1883 after a trip to Spain and is dedicated to the conductor Charles Lamoureux, who conducted the first public performance on 4 November 1883, at the Théâtre du Château d’Eau for the Société des Nouveaux Concerts in Paris.    (19540)
