Signed W.G & A.J. Thuss of Nashville cabinet photograph of the American composer, cellist and conductor known for his many successful operettas. He is shown in a right facing bust portrait and has inscribed with a musical quotation to the pianist and composer Franz Bausemer: "with Greatest Compliments / Victor Herbert / St. Louis Oct. '97." Signature to a darker area of the image, fading ink, some scratches and small losses around the edges of the mount, else fine.
