Twice-Signed Dvorak Concerto Concert Program

Original concert program from a performance of the Dvorak Concerto for Cello with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra at University Auditorium on December 7, 1965.  The great cellist and featured soloist for the evening has signed to cover together with Musical Director Frederic Balazs and additionally beside their respective photograph portraits within the program. Small tape remnant to an internal page, overall in fine condition.  32 pp.  6.25 x 9.5 inches (15.9 x 24.1 cm.).

While the featured cellist here surely needs no introduction, Pianist Claudio Arrau once said that Frederic Balazs was "a brilliant conductor of rare gifts with musicianship, intelligence, and inspirational capacity of great depth."  He was "known for his work in building and establishing young ensembles, such as the Wichita Falls Symphony and the Tucson Symphony, both of which blossomed into major ensembles under his direction."
