Signed Grammophon/Archiv photograph of the Austrian conductor, who has penned his name in blue to the lower portion of the image.  Photographer stamp to verso. Signature to low-contrast area, else in fine condition.  5 x 7 inches (12.7 x 17.8 cm.).

Before studying at the Vienna Conservatory, Böhm had followed in his lawyer father's footsteps by completing a doctorate in law.  He is most fondly remembered for his performances of Mozart, Wagner, and Richard Strauss.

From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
