Collection of Programs, Press Clippings, and Other Materials related to the March King, including Signed Card

Sizable collection of Sousa ephemera, including a printed courtesy card signed by the March King, an autograph letter signed from his daughter Jane Priscilla, a mounted sheet of 2¢ USPS stamps bearing Sousa's visage, and a concert program from a November 5, 1930 performance with handwritten additions to the evening's listing among numerous other press clippings, photographs, and programs.  Many of the present items are mounted to album sheets, overall in fine condition. The collection is highlighted by Sousa's signature penned to a printed card reading, "Thank you very much for the kind expressions contained in your letter regarding the Radio Concerts.  I assure you the sentiments are deeply appreciated. / Sincerely yours, / John Philip Sousa."  Also included are: a 1936 ALS from Jane Priscilla Sousa, the composer's daughter, to Rev. Gillespie ("My mother has asked me to write to say that she is sending to you the photographs...We are [in Sarasota, Florida] for a few months after leaving the cold weather of Port Washington, Long Island.");  unsigned printed note, addressed in Jane's hand from 1944, thanking Gillespie for his condolences upon the passing of Sousa's wife, Jane van Middlesworth Bellis; Fall, 1931 catalogue from music publisher Hale, Cushman & Flint, who handled Sousa's music, paired with a typed letter signed from the same firm, reading in part "In reply to your letter of the twenty-fourth, the price of Sousa's 'Marching Along,' is $5.00"; a later printing of "Stars and Stripes Forever," inscribed to Gillespie as a birthday gift from a friend.
