Milano: G. Ricordi & C.. 1926.
Turandot, Drama Lirico in Tre Atti e Cinque Quadri di. G. Adami e R. Simoni. Pezzi Staccati per Canto e Pianoforte. Atto III. Liu: Tu che di gel sei cinta. Upright folio. [PN] 12027. 4 pp. An unusual and beautiful copy of this great aria, illustrated on the cover with the magnificent color and gilt portrait by Umberto Brunelleschi, who designed the costumes for the first performance. This edition of a single aria was published along with several others in 1926, nearly coinciding with the publication of the first edition of the piano and vocal score and with the first performance of the opera (at Teatro all Scala, Milan, April 25, 1926). The spine reinforced with tape, a few chips to the rear wrapper edges, this copy is otherwise in fine condition. From the Collection of leading Soprano, Geraldine Farrar, known in particular for her Puccini roles. With a few minor pencil notations in her hand, an important and rare copy.
