Upright folio.  192 pp.  [PN 5295-188].  Reissue of the first edition.  The present copy of the vocal score for Gypsy was part of the Tams-Witmark Music Library, and would have been rented for regional performances.  Flexible black plastic boards with with label reading "Conductors Score of Gypsy."  [1] (title),[2] (named cast), [3] (scenes), [4] (musical numbers), 5-192 pp.  Occasional pencil marks throughout.  Boards worn; spine and joints reinforced with silver tape covering several letters of titling to upper wrapper.  Overall in fine condition. Fine original stipple engraving of the great actress in the role of Euphrasia in the tragedy by the Irish writer Arthur Murphy, "The Grecian Daughter."  Engraved by T. Wageman after the original of T. Woolnoth and issued in 1830 by John Cumberland.  Trimmed to 2.5 x 3.7 inches (6.5 x 9.5 cm), mounted to an itaglio relief-printed page measuring overall 6 x 8 inches (15.5 x 20.5 cm.). Read More...

Large Signed Photograph with Crucifix

Large original Sarony of NY photograph, boldly signed in fountain pen and inscribed "Souvenir le plus Sympathique et le plus affectueux / Sarah Bernhardt, 1906 [possibly instead 1896]." 8.3 x 11.6 inches. Heavily chipped and cracked along the right edge with surface losses and upper right corner perished, most of which could be matted out of view for presentation. Despite these faults, this is undoubtedly one of the finest and most unusual signed photographs of Bernhardt we have encountered.  Read More...

Signed Photograph in the St. George's Park Tea Room.

Signed photograph of the South African playwright, who has inscribed "Paul, / Thank you for being present, / Athol" in black felt-tip.  Fugard is shown sitting inside the St. George's Park Tea Room in Port Elizabeth, the setting for his 1982 play "Master Harold" ...and the Boys.  A press note mounted to verso announces an upcoming production of the play at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston, opening on March 8, 1983.  In very fine condition.  8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm.).
