104. [Jazz & Song] Redding, Otis. (1941-1967).
Glass Photographic Memorial Tray

Rare glass memorial tray, honoring the singer, known as the ‘King of Soul,’ who died tragically in a plane crash at the age of 26; a month later ‘(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay’ was posthumously released and became his only number one single. Evidently prepared shortly after his death, the black glass tray features a black and white photograph portrait of Redding with gilt detailing and the printed text "In Memoriam / Otis Redding / 1941-1967." Corners a little chipped, but overall in fine condition and quite rare. 5 x 7 inches (13 x 19 cm).

Signed Photograph

Unusual signed and uninscribed closeup 8 x 10 inch black and white photograph of the great singer, known as the “First Lady of Song,” widely regarded as the one of finest jazz vocalists of all time. An image of the singer in her glorious prime, signed later with her name alone across the image in bold black ink, evidently very late in life after diabetes had left her largely blind. In fine condition.
